Today's Assignment

.) What I'm comparing with my answers is that the theme from Jimmy Santiago Baca's poem is that his writing is talking what happened in his life and how he changed through time. 2.) One sentence I will change is that I thought this poem was gonna be boring, but this time when I heard Jimmy Santiago Baca was born with venom, I kept on reading the poem.
Theme- I think the theme is motivational since he was able to change from not caring about things into a poet. * Tone- I think the tone is serious, everything he said in the story was from experience. * Mood- the mood for me is dispersing, he went through a struggle but still had hope and changed. * Devices- devices used in this are metaphors and similes.

My Bad Dream Of An Essay

Remember that time you ate that spicy chips  just before you went to bed on the night before the big show ?  Oh, that weird dream you had about the 2016 presidential election.  When you woke up you couldn't quite remember the important   details, but after reading " On Self-Reliance " and " A Sound of Thunder " it's all coming back to you now. The dream started badly.  You were in line with your family at a store waiting to be sent to buy lots of clothes. Everywhere you looked there were posters of president-elect like Donald messed up hair Trump , looking like a crazy pig, who could eat a whole country like America.    Suddenly, there was Ralph Waldo Emerson telling you," The persons who make up a nation to-day, next year die, and their experience with them ."  You realized that you have something to contribute to the world so you decided to accept it.  But it wasn't easy.  First you had to put on a fancy clothes and shoes and then you had mak

A sound of Style

I believe the story ended the way it did because of the way it was ending because it left an unanswered question of the sound of thunder which can mean many things that happened when they both or one person heard of the sound of did someone die? Was that a warning shot of a killing blow and the act of a coward or an act of defeat. I believe that one person gave up but we will never know who did but we do have a good idea who.

Emerson Child

Emerson would want us to learn the way that we'd choose to pursue our goals. He wouldn't want us to do anything specific, just find a way to do it and stick to it. Emerson said "What I must do is all concerned to me, not what the people think" this is basically what he'd want us to do, not give a fuck what others think of your way. He'd believe us and be proud of us for being us and not what others want us to me.    I think Emerson would support us in achieve anything we desire to. He wouldn't look down or think he's better than others for something we want to accomplish. I think he would only jump in and try to change things if we gave up on our goals. "Treat others how you want to be treated", that's how he would feel about us giving up. He knows someone would do the same if he were in that position. Emerson is like one of those cool ass teachers that like to fuck around but get serious when needed to.    After school, he would want us

My Emerson

These are the voices which we hear in solitude, but they grow faint and inaudible as we enter into the world."     That people have the guts to say something when they feel secure but when they Enter the public they just lose their words from fear.

Emerson Said It

I believe 10 is accurate. "Ne te quaesiveris extra", "Do not look outside yourself", and "Trust Thyself". "Every heart beats to that Iron String", as we should believe in ourselfs as all our hearts beat for one thing, which is 'life', as how can we live if we the youth are not trusted at moments?

175 years later would Emerson Puke or Celebrate ?

I think Emerson would Puke at todays society and how everything is today. Today all people want is to become rich or popular by joining gangs and killin each other just to show who's the "One". Noone in this society is Self Reliance as no one cares about each other with respect to others in our world we live in.

Author in Progress

I wrote the best i could on the test even though i was absent, i still took the test because i didnt want to be behind everyone else. I was kinda prepared for the essay but no as much as i thought. I think i need to improve on my writing instead of answering the questions while thinking about it.

Team Vocab

We all know Donald Trump is a venemous person. In the other hand Hillary is a Stolid person compared to Trump. Trump looked hypnotized during the debate. Trump shall be suspended. Trump transformed the debate into a joke. He accused people all the time. He starts to anticipate things. He plans to build a fringe between Mexico and the U.S. He makes people feel melanecholy. trump never speaks earnestly. Thats why he always gets dissolved.

Letter to my Mentor Draft

Dear Genious Specialist,  Who became the first Genious? How i'm wondering this basic question, yet complex. Like what did they do or how did they do it? Like have you been asked this question before? Or do you not know either ? Im just trying to find the answers to my big question.

Respect My Authority

What i feel about authorities is good and bad. Some aurhorities care for me and push me to do better for myself. Then there's some authority figures that donr even care what i do, and have no help if i need anything.
I think the story is inciting. He has nobody to help him with his problems he is going through and kinda odd that he's thinking no one is there for him.

Mistakes for Presidents

What i observed from watching was that Trump wants to reduce taxes, and Hilary Clinton went out very strong about her self. She wants to build a economy that works for everyone in America which means that we need more busines's, more jobs with rising incomes. Our Country is losing which she wants to go back and fix everything that is wrong in America so that people can be equal to each other again.

My Analysis (book)

The theme to my book tells me how family is and how family is always key to having each others back. The tone is very intense, it shows me how the author is very amazed with his audience. The Diction to this story is very precised, the author organizes the story for his reader to understand what happenes from beginning to end.

My Question

My Big question was why are people mean or nice in life ? I think because its based on how people treat each other in any way, and how they are raised from young age.

The Pedestrian

My impression to this story sounds like it will be very interesting to read.

Young Goodman Brown Questions

1) I think the purpose was to get the reader and people's attention. 2) I agree and disagree at the same time. Faith does fit her personality because she can be a innocent person, but can also be a bit weird. Her husband does really have faith in her because she's a weird kinda woman. 3) The pink ribbons signify many things about faith, it shows innocence because the ribbons come from pinking two colors together.

Young Goodman Brown

My impression to the article/story was unique because it talked about faith.

Conscience of a hacker

My impression to the hacker was irrelevant

Whats Your Big Question ?

What makes us feel odd ? Why is everything so Difficult/easy ? Why are people mean/kind ? I think in my thought is how people act to each other.

Sacratic Seminar / Earth on Turtle's Back

In our group we talked about how back in the day, there were weird words that we might not see today. The words from the present now we use words like slang that dont even spell the word correctly, we just use slang for short cuts.

Ancient Stories

1) The language in the story is different from the language i speak in everyday conversations, because i dont repeat word for word each time im in a conversation i just dont unless someone cant hear me talk. 2)It is important in a way to repeat word for word in a poem like "Earth on Turtle's Back" has done even though it was weird towards the end. I think it would change the story in a i dont way but i just think it would change the story lines.

The Earth To The Turtles Back

This Article is confusing a little, because it talks about a lady that dreams about something. The next morning she tells her husband what she had dreamed of,her husband nodded at her like if she was going pyscho. Then it goes on to a whole different topic then the start of the article.
